The council's Draft Budget consultation period finished 3 weeks ago. As expected they have refused to accept responses that they decided did not fit their repsonse method. This is simply moving the goal posts by the Mayor and unelected council officers including the CEO, to suit themselves.
The council will meet on June 15 at the Malvern Town Hall at 7pm to vote on the 26/27 budget.

The politicking about the market has calmed. An independent management board was appointed to the market in 2021. We believe a full audit of the market board and its operations are warranted for transparency.

We note the ironical outrage by Cr Kate Hely (South Yarra Ward) regarding the State Government overturning the voice of the people and allowing an over scale development to proceed. She seems to have forgotten the voice of the people when the new parking permit scheme came to a vote. It has a disapproval rate close to 99%.

The best way to achieve change is to email Councillors AND the CEO Dale Dickson. They will usually respond quickly. Their details are on the "Your Councillors" tab on this website. Commenting on their individual social media posts is helpful but can be blocked.
