‘A community rallying cry’:

Residents demand action on Chapel Street

The Age reported on 21 March 2026 about a community rally where hundreds of residents gathered to demand accountability from Stonnington Council over the decline of Chapel Street. The article by Rachael Ward highlighted residents’ frustration with rising crime, empty shopfronts, rough sleeping, and a council perceived as out of touch. We have already had success with police having a 3 week blitz in the area. Local politicians are now producing videos about their accomplishments on social media.
